Important information

School bookings are an important part of our service.

They often involve children, so it is essential that all drivers follow the correct process at all times.

This helps ensure:

• Safeguarding rules are followed
• Children are safely handed over
• Delays and missed bookings are avoided

🏫 Conventional Schools (Mainstream Schools)

At mainstream schools, drivers must always go into reception to collect or drop off a child.

Why this is required:

• Schools will not usually release a child without an adult collecting from reception
• Safeguarding procedures must be followed by all schools
• Staff need to confirm the correct collection

What drivers should do:

• Park safely and legally
• Enter the school reception
• Confirm the child’s details if asked
• Wait for the child to be brought to you by staff
• Take identification to prove who you are

🚫 Important Safeguarding Rule – Correct Passengers Only

For all school bookings:

• You must only transport the child(ren) named on the booking
• You must not carry additional children or passengers on the same journey
• You must not combine two school bookings into one journey

Each booking is assigned for a specific child and must be completed individually.

This is required for:

• Safeguarding compliance
• Insurance coverage
• School policy compliance
• Passenger safety

If you are ever asked to take additional children, you must politely refuse and inform the office if necessary.

⚠️ Important Safeguarding Rule

Children may not always be released immediately.

This is normal and part of school safeguarding procedures.

Drivers should remain patient and wait for school staff to complete the handover process.

🧒 Alternative Provision (AP) Schools

AP schools may operate differently.

Drivers should still:

• Follow any instructions given by school staff
• Report to reception or the designated collection point
• Wait for the child to be brought out safely

The same rule applies:

• Only the child on the booking may be transported
• No additional passengers may be carried
• Bookings must not be combined

⏰ Punctuality at Schools

Please ensure you:

• Arrive a few minutes early where possible
• Allow extra time for school collection procedures
• Stay in communication with the app if delays occur

🚗 Professional Conduct

When on school work, drivers must:

• Remain calm and patient at all times
• Speak politely to staff and pupils
• Follow all instructions given by school staff
• Avoid arguments or confrontation

School contracts are important and must be handled professionally.
